Several people died - among the victims is former rugby international Tom Voyce (†43). He was found dead last week. He had previously been swept away by the water masses when he tried to cross a river with his car that had overflowed its banks.

A week ago, there were nationwide severe weather warnings. In some areas, there were severe floods and wind speeds of up to 150 km/h. More than 20,000 households in Great Britain and Ireland were temporarily without power, and there were also train and flight cancellations.
