😇 We Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas tomorrow, January 7, 2025.
Today, January 6, 2025, Western Churches celebrate Epiphany and Three Kings Day (on the twelfth day Christmas). They are Celebrated most in Europe, Spain, and Latin America, ‘El Dia de los Reyes’, as it’s called in Spanish, marks the glorification of baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men.
Tucked quietly into many of the world’s most celebrated holidays are hidden codes, sacred symbolism, and my personal favorite – valuable and often forgotten medicines. In certain cases, we have to dig a little in order to find the deeper wisdom in these annual celebrations, but not with Christmas. This one wears its healing jewels in plain sight, like ornaments on a tree.
Today, we’re going to visit the Three Wise Men, who famously paid a fateful visit to Jesus in the moments after his birth. Also known as “The Magi,” which is the root of the English word magician, the bible says that these distinguished foreigners came bearing three special gifts. One of the gifts was pure gold, but the other two may have been a far more valuable offering. These were the herbs frankincense and myrrh.
Yes, frankincense and myrrh are best known for their use as incense in religious rituals, but make no mistake, these revered herbs are potent medicines that have been used by healers throughout history to treat everything from serious infection to hair loss. Let’s take a closer look at each one.
Frankincense: Boswellia sacra, Boswellia carter
Dating back to Sumerian times, this fragrant resin was often transported via large caravans across the desert from eastern African and Arabian regions, including Ethiopia, Yemen, Oman and Somalia. Its use as a medicine most likely started with the ancient Egyptians who also charred it to make the famous black kohl eyeliner that adorned the faces of their noble women. Frankincense is central to almost every major religion from this region of the world, but its healing value often goes unmentioned in the history books.
For starters, frankincense oil has been used for millennia to help balance out the emotions and achieve a happier, more connected life. Modern science tells us that frankincense is rich in compounds known as sesquiterpenes, that have the ability to pass the blood-brain barrier and stimulate the region of our brain that controls our feelings. One of the most common biomarkers of this plant, incensole acetate, is a known antidepressant that has shown very promising effects.
The oil is also extremely beneficial for the skin and hair. It can be applied topically to treat dry skin, smoothen wrinkles, and strengthen hair roots. After battle, it was often relied upon to disinfect wounds, sooth muscle pain and reduce swelling. Because of its known anti-inflammatory properties, frankincense oil is often prescribed by naturopaths to treat patients who are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
Fun fact: archaeologists found frankincense resin in King Tut’s tomb in ancient Egypt. A truly medicinal treasure!
Myrrh: Commiphora myrrha
Like frankincense, myrrh is native to Northern Africa and the Middle East, including Ethiopia and Yemen. This revered plant resin actually appears in one of the oldest Egyptian medical texts, Ebers Papyrus, which dates back to 1550 B.C.! This is a clear testament to how popular it was among ancient cultures for its curative effects. But why?
Beyond its use as a fragrance and for embalming purposes, early civilizations saw that it possessed quite a few healing properties. The Egyptians bought boatloads of it from the Phoenicians for use in skin salves that were applied to wounds, sores and burns. By this time, early doctors had already recognized myrrh’s antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects, and it was prescribed for a wide array of physical ailments, including: cough, asthma, indigestion, rashes and scrapes, burns, skin infection, hemorrhoids, joint pain, and sore throat.
It was also used as a rejuvenating facial and massage treatment for women.
Both of these sacred substances have endured quite a journey over the past five millennia. They were even forbidden by certain religions for quite some time because of their association with pagan rituals – but it’s hard to keep a good medicine under wraps. Frankincense and myrrh are now celebrated worldwide for their religious significance, but it is up to us to spread the word about their extreme healing potential and put them to good use!
If you are feeling adventurous and would like to create your own healing balm from these two timeless herbs, we have included a recipe below!
How to make your own skin balm with frankincense and myrrh:
(Makes about 3 cups)
To make this recipe, you will need either a slow cooker or double boiler. If you don’t have either, you can fashion yourself a makeshift double boiler using a metal or glass mixing bowl and slightly smaller pot filled with a bit of water.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups olive oil
20 drops frankincense essential oil
20 drops myrrh essential oil
2/3 cup beeswax
4 glass or metal sealable containers
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Construct your double boiler or slow cooker and bring to the appropriate low heat.
• Add the olive oil and allow to come to temperature. About 7 minutes.
• Add the beeswax, stirring until dissolved.
• Add frankincense and myrrh essential oils and stir gently for 5 minutes.
• Pour into storage containers. Leave the lids off until fully cool.
Once you allow this fragrant oil to cool for about 20 to 30 minutes, it will firm up into a nicely textured balm that you can apply directly to the skin.

የዕጣን ዛፎቹ (የጦርነቱ አንዱ ተልዕኮ ይህን እንደ ኮሮና ያሉ ወረርሽኞችን የሚከላከለውን ዕጣን የሚያወጣውን 'የሕይወት ዛፍ' ለሉሲፈራውያኑ አንጋፋ የዓለማችን መድኃኒት ዓምራች ኩባንያዎች ሲባል ማውደም መሆኑን በተደጋጋሚ አውስቼ ነበር።
ዕጣን እና ከርቤ ምናልባት በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ትርጓሜያቸው በጣም የታወቁ ናቸው። እነዚህ የዛፍ ጭማቂዎች በዓለም ዙሪያ ለስድስት ሺህ ዓመታት ያህል በጣም የተከበሩ ናቸው። እነዚህ ጥሩ መዓዛ ያላቸው የዕጣንና ከርቤ ዛፎች “በቅርቡ ወደ መጥፋት ሊያመሩ ይችላሉ።” የሚለው ስጋት መሰማት ከጀመረ ዓመታት አስቆጥሯል። የእነዚህ ዛፎች መነሻ ከአክሱም ጽዮን ነው።
🛑 ታዲያ ወርቅን፣ ዕጣንን እና ከርቤን በጣም ውድ የሚያደርጋቸው ነገር ምንድን ነው?
❖ ወርቅ = ኢየሱስ የዘላለም ንጉሥ ነው።
❖ ዕጣን = ኢየሱስ የሁሉ አምላክ ነው።
❖ ከርቤ = ኢየሱስ የማይሞት ነው።
😇 ሰብአ ሰገል ወርቅ፣ ዕጣንና ከርቤ የመገበራቸው ምስጢር፡-
የጌታችንን ልደት በኮከብ ተረድተው ሰብአ ሰገል (የጥበብ ሰዎች) ማንቱሲማር፣ ሜልኩ በዲዳስፋ የተባሉ የፋርስ ነገሥታት ወርቅ፣ ዕጣን ከርቤ አምጥተው የመገበራቸው (አምሐ አድርገው የመስጠታቸው) ምስጢር እንደምንድን ነው ቢሉ፡-
❖ ወርቅ፡-
ወርቅ መገበራቸው ይኸን የምንገብርላቸው ነገሥታት ቀድሞም ፍጡራን ኋላም ኀላፍያን ናቸው። አንተ ግን ቀድሞም ያልተፈጠርህ ነህ፤ ኋላም የማታልፍ ነህ ሲሉ፤ አንድም ወርቅ ጽሩይ ነው፤ ጽሩየ ባሕርይ ነህ ሲሉ፤ እንዲሁም በአንተ ያመኑ ምዕመናንም ጽሩያነ ምግባር ወሃይማኖት ናቸው ሲሉ። አንድም ወርቅ የሃይማኖት ምሳሌ ነው። የሃይማኖት ጽሩይነቱና ግብዝነቱ የሚታወቅ መከራ ሲቀበሉበት ነውና።
❖ ዕጣን፡-
ዕጣን መገበራቸው ይህንን የምናጥናቸው ጣዖታት ቀድሞም ፍጡራን ኋላም ኀላፍያን ናቸው። አንተ ግን ቀድሞም ያልተፈጠርህ ኋላም የማታልፍ ነህ ሲሉ። አንድም ዕጣን ምዑዝ ነው፤ አንተም በባሕርይ ምዑዝ ነህ ሲሉ እንዲሁ ደግሞ በአንተም የሚያምኑ ምእመናንን ምዑዛነ ምግባር ወሃይማኖት ናቸው ሲሉ። አንድም ዕጣን የተስፋ ምሳሌ ነው። ዕጣን ከሩቅ እንዲሸት ተስፋ ያልያዙትን እንደያዙት ያላዩትን እንዳዩት ታደርጋለችና።
❖ ከርቤ፡-
ከርቤ መገበራቸው ምንም ቀድሞ ያልተፈጠርህ በኋላም የማታልፍ ብትሆንም በሰውነትህ መራራ ሞትን ትቀበላለህ ሲሉ፤ አንድም ከርቤ የተሰበረውን ይጠግናል፤ የተለየውን አንድ ያደርጋል። አንተም ከማኅበረ መላእክት የተለየ አዳምን አንድ ታደርገዋለህ፤ ጽንዓ ነፍስ ሰጥተህ ታጸናዋለህ ሲሉ። አንድም በዕለተ ዓርብ ያቀምሱታልና ከርቤ አመጡለት። ከርቤ የምዕመናን ምሳሌ ነው። በፍቅር አንድ ይሆናሉና። ከርቤ የፍቅር ምሳሌ ነው። ከርቤ አንድ እንዲያደርግ ፤ ፍቅርም አንድ ታደርጋለችና።
በአጠቃላይ ሰብአ ሰገል ወርቅ፣ እጣን ከርቤ የገበሩለት ሃይማኖት፣ ፍቅር፣ ተስፋ፣ ገንዘቦችህ ናቸው ሲሉ ነው። በሌላ መልኩ ወርቅ ለመንግሥቱ፣ ዕጣን ለመለኮቱ፣ ከርቤ ለሞቱ ምሳሌ ናቸው።
❖❖❖<የዮሐንስ ራእይ ምዕራፍ ፰፤>❖❖❖ ፩ ሰባተኛውንም ማኅተም በፈታ ጊዜ እኵል ሰዓት የሚያህል ዝምታ በሰማይ ሆነ። ፪ በእግዚአብሔርም ፊት የሚቆሙትን ሰባቱን መላእክት አየሁ፥ ሰባትም መለከት ተሰጣቸው። ፫ ሌላም መልአክ መጣና የወርቅ ጥና ይዞ በመሰዊያው አጠገብ ቆመ፤ በዙፋኑም ፊት ባለው በወርቅ መሰዊያ ላይ ለቅዱሳን ሁሉ ጸሎት እንዲጨምረው ብዙ ዕጣን ተሰጠው። ፬ የዕጣኑም ጢስ ከቅዱሳን ጸሎት ጋር ከመልአኩ እጅ በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ወጣ።
If you've heard of frankincense and myrrh, it's probably thanks to the biblical account of the birth of Jesus. According to the book of Matthew, Chapter 2, the Magi, or wise men, followed a bright star in the east to Bethlehem, where Jesus had been born:
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh (Matthew 2:11).
Since the early days of Christianity, Biblical scholars and theologians have offered varying interpretations of the meaning and significance of the gold, frankincense and myrrh that the magi presented to Jesus, according to the Gospel of Matthew (2:11). These valuable items were standard gifts to honor a king or deity in the ancient world: gold as a precious metal, frankincense as perfume or incense, and myrrh as anointing oil. In fact, these same three items were apparently among the gifts, recorded in ancient inscriptions, that King Seleucus II Callinicus offered to the god Apollo at the temple in Miletus in 243 B.C.E. The Book of Isaiah, when describing Jerusalem’s glorious restoration, tells of nations and kings who will come and “bring gold and frankincense and shall proclaim the praise of the Lord” (Isaiah 60:6). Although Matthew’s gospel does not include the names or number of the magi, many believe that the number of the gifts is what led to the tradition of the Three Wise Men.

❖ MYRRH = is for the Lord Jesus who has come to die as the perfect sacrifice for the people. For the dead were anointed with myrrh, as Jesus Himself was anointed.

ምን እንደሆነ አላውቅም እስከ አለፈው ነሃሴ ወር ድረስ ምናልባት በወር አንዴ ብቻ ነበር እጣን የማጤሰው፤ ካለፈው ጥቅምት ወር አንስቶ ግን በቤትም በመሥሪያ ቤትም በጣም አዘውትሬ አጤሳለሁ፤ የእግዚአብሔር ሥራ ድንቅ ነው፤ ቅዱስ መንፈስ ማድረግ የሚገባንንና የሚጠቅመንን ነገር ሳናስበውና ሳንዘጋጅበት እንድናደርገው ወደ በጎው ነገር ይመራናል።
ዛሬ ወደዚህ አይሁድ ቪዲዮ እንዴት እንደገባሁ ሁሉ አላውቅም፣ ያውም እጣንን በሚመለከት የገባሁበት ገጽ አልነበረም ፤ ግን ያው! ለኮሮና ጋኔን መፍትሄ ይሆናሉ ብዬ ሳስባቸው ከነበሩት ከጸበል፣ ከጸሎት ጎን እጣን እና ከርቤ እንደሚኖሩበት አረጋገጠለን። አሁን በዚህ በጣም እርግጠኛና ደስተኛ ነኝ።
ደካሞችና ምስጋና ቢሶች ሆነን ነው እንጂ አምላካችን እኮ የሚጠቅሙንን ነገሮች ሁሉ ሰጥቶናል፤ ጸበሉንም፣ ጸሎቱንም፣ እጣኑና ከርቤውንም በነጻ ሰጥቶናል። እጣንና ከርቤ ከወርቅ በላይ የሆኑበት ዘመን ላይ ደርሰናል። ለብዙ በሽታዎች ፈውስ እንደሆኑ ሳይንሱ ሳይቀር እያረጋገጠልን ነው። Seeing the Unseen of the Combination of Two Natural Resins, Frankincense and Myrrh
እጣኑን በአግባቡ እናጢስ፤ ወገኖቼ፤ ነገር ግን ከተለመደው የቡና ስነ ሥርዓት ወቅት፣ በተለይ ከኦጋዴን እና አረብ ዕጣኖች ጋር አብሮ ማጤሱን ዛሬውኑ ማቆም አለባችሁ! አባቶች ይህን አስመልክቶ አንድ ይበሉን!
አየን አይደለም?! ጠላት ዲያብሎስ ለብዙ ሳምንታት በቂ የኮሮና ቫይረስ በአውሮፕላን እንዲረጭ ካደረገ በኋላ ወሮበላው መንግስት “በረራዎችን አቁሜአለሁ ፣ ይቅርታ ቅብጥርሴ” አለን። ቫይረሱ ልክ እንደ አንበጣ እስኪፈለፈል የሁለት ሳምንታት ጊዜ ይወስድበታል ተብሏል። ስለዚህ አባቶች ልክ እንደ ጆርጂያ ኦርቶዶክስ አባቶች በተለይ አዲስ አበባን በመኪና እና በሄሊኮፕቶር እየዞሩ ዛሬውኑ ደጋግመው ጸበል ቢረጩና እጣን ቢያጤሱ ትልቅ ሥራ ይሆን ነበር። በተለይ ምዕመናን ለቅዳሴ የማይመጡ ከሆነ ይህ መደረግ አለበት። ቀዝቃዛዎቹ የጉንፋን ወራት ከመጀመራቸው በፊት አስቀድሞ መደረግ ያለበት አንዱ ተግባር ይህ ሊሆን ይገባል።
